Ralph Steadman, the Gonzo Artist, is one of my personal favorite illustrators/artists. Steadman’s work has such a raw energy to it that makes it impossible to ignore. I wanted to try and capture that raw energy and spontaneous creation.

I made these textures with the goal of creating surfaces that feel broken and tangible. As my resource library grows, I will continue to develop this texture style.
These textures were made my saturating some vintage papers with water, then adding watercolors, regular paints, and food coloring then letting them dry out.
These 5 textures span the spectrum of color, energy, and depth. Some are soft-spoken while others are loud and proud.
